Painting on Converse

For friends

I used to paint on febric like bags, sneakers and T-shirts. It is quite funny of course. ;)

Those were made a year ago for my friends' birthday. Actually I planned to finish 3 sneakers for 3 friens, Yelim, Jieun and CK but I didn't have enough time. I finished 2 sneakers for my friends in hometown, Yelim and Jieun. I also should had made CK's but I didn't. Finally she couldn't take my present, I can't give to CK anymore.

It was finished soon. I didn't spend time a lot. It only took about 2 hours maybe. That day, I could draw very well and rapdly. When I gave this to friends, they were really pleased and me, too! Making something myself is absolutely fun and interesting and also it make me happy when I give my work to friends.

When I made my first sneakers, it took a lot of time. Maybe it took about 10 hours? (Of course I watched 1 season of soap opera during working.)
It was very difficult because I had to use many colors and design was complecated. Actually it was not my first work. There was first drawing but I re-painted new picture on same sneakers.
I bought about 3 years ago but I still wear this shoes. It is precious for me.

Exhibition of Yousuf Karsh

I went to a exhibition of Yousuf Karsh in Seoul, Korea on 17, March.

It was pretty impressive to me. Actually I don't know well about photography, but my company JW is studying photography in university so I could study about photography a little from him.

I never know how difficult is taking pictures of people like his pieces. I thought just pushing shutter button can take pictures without any skills, but I was absolutely wrong. To take picture of person, it is needed a lot of conditions. It is also interesting. :)

My first photography exhibition was Robert Kappa, also was held in Korea. It was also really interesting, because he took a lot of pictures during war. It was very dangerous, but he had tried to take all scences he could take that time.

Both of exhibitions are also interesting and impressive but they are a little different as you know.
Karsh took potraits of people mostly. He can handle lights very well. When I see his pics I fell sometimes it looks like 3D graphic. person's face, hands and background are really clear. His skills are impressing me. Kappa was a war photographer. His pictures have pain, sadness, loss and also have hope and faith. Messages of his pictures made me moving.

Anyway, this exhibition is still helding in Seoul. If you are living in Seoul and you want to see his pieces, you should go there.

These can't show real feelings and textures. You can meet the real Audrey Hepburn in exhibiton.

+) I'm studying English now, I try to use English in this blog to improve my English and maybe here are toooooo many mistakes (not maybe, absolutely!)

Farewell Party for Adam

I don't understand why he decided to leave. I think he is fine and has fun in Korea. Thesedays, maybe he didn't. I'm a little sorry to hear that news but he can find more fun life soon.

Adam and I met in 2005! 4 years ago! Wow! Time goes so fast.

Home Party :)

Every friend comes to Soho&Noho(Flower Shop in Seoul) bringing foods and alcohols.

Music is playing, we start drinking and this party continues all night long :)

매일매일 이 노래와 함께 시작했던 그와의 두 시간은 나에게는 정말 소중했던 순간들.
너무나 감미롭고 편안했던 그의 목소리는 여전히 아름다웠고 유쾌하다.
항상 힘들었던 하루를 레몬향이 나는 얼그레이를 마시지 않고도 깔끔하게 마무리하게 해주었던 그의 목소리를 다시 듣기 시작했다.
그의 목소리가 내 작은 방에, 내 작은 귀에 가득 차기 시작한다.
옆에서 타고 있는 장미향의 초와,
화장대 위에 있는 색색의 매니큐어들과,
샤워기 옆에 있는 상큼한 과일 향의 헤어팩과,
고등학교 때 사서 정이 들어 버리지도 못하는 낡은 분홍색 점퍼와,
귀여운 알비노 루돌프와,
내가 읽다가 말았던 많은 책들과도
너무나 잘 어울리는 그의 목소리는
한동안 잊었던 여유를 다시 찾게 해준다.
그의 목소리를 들으면서 잠드는 것이 가장 큰 행복이었던 17살,
22살의 지금, 행복하게 잠들 수 있는 방법을 다시 찾은 것 같다.
