그를 처음 만난 건 몇 주 전, QVB 앞에서 였다. 버스 시간이 조금 남아 있던 터라 그가 만드는 종이 인형을 구경할 시간이 있어 잠깐 얘기를 나누게 되었다. 영어연습을 조금이라도 더 하고 싶어서 길거리로 나오게 되었다는 이 도쿄에서 온 젊은 친구는 패스트푸드점, 카페에서 볼 수 있는 휴지로 귀여운 발레리나(!?)인형을 만들고 있었다.
만드는 것도 쉽다고 시간이 있다면 2분만에 만드는 법을 알려주겠다며 친절히 가르쳐 주었던 이 일본 청년을 나의 첫 인터뷰이(랄 것도 없지만 어쨋든,)로 선정, 블로그에 올리고 싶다고 하자 기뻐하며 허락해주었다.
호주에서 카우보이(응??!!!)로 일해보고 싶다는.... 기타를 연습에서 길거리에서 꼭 공연해보고 싶다는 재밌는 계획을 가진 이 친구가 조금은 부러웠다. 뭔가 배워 오거나 남들에게 보여줄만한 재미있는 게 있었다면 나도 길거리에 꼭 나와보고 싶으니까.
곧 다른 곳으로 떠날 것 같다는 하지메군이 꼭 카우보이가 되어 호주에서 기타를 치며 소와 양을 모는 그 날이 오기를!

Yes
- Do you have any plan to go to another city?
I want to be a cowboy :) now I'm searching the way to be a cowboy in Australia. I want to be free.
- Why you started doing this 'ORIGAMI'?
Because I met a performer who is playing drum, I was so impressed. I'd like to perform and I asked him how can I start this kind of job. He advised me to go to Town Hall House to get busking permission. It took about 50 minutes to apply.
- Oh, you have to get permission from gorvernment to show or perform anything? I didn't know that. I can't show something on the street without this card? (He showed Busking card from City of Sydney. Actually I can't remember exact name..)
No you can't. Sometimes people from the city of Sydney ask you to show the permission from government.
I don't go to school. I want to improve my English skills so I thought what should I do and I got the idea about this.
- I think it's very good idea to meet people and talk. Where did you learn 'ORIGAMI'?
From my friend in Japan. I had learnt from him in Japan.
- Usually girls are more interested in this?
Both. 50:50. From child to old men.
- Yes it's definitely interesting. I tried to make this in my work place. It was really easy.
When I herd from people what they think about this, I feel very good.
- If anyone wants your work, you will give this for free?
Normally it's free but people pays a little bit money to get this. (there is small TIP box beside him.)
- Is it good?
Sometimes.. haha Especially Valentine's Day was very good. Many couples came here and left tips.
- When u usually come here?
Almost everyday. From 1 or 2 pm.
- Only here? or another place?
Only here, because this is very good table to do 'ORIGAMI'.
- You need enough place to make this dolls. Anyway thank you very much. We will see again very soon I think.
